Mai Day! Drone!
As part of the requirements for my Digital Video Production Certification, I spent my summer internship at Mai Day Productions. I worked daily in the studio and in the field for owner, Patrick DJamoos. Patricks. If I learned one thing from Patrick, it’s that he is passionate about college and high school school sporting events. Mai Day Productions shoots game footage for much of central New Jersey. Patrick enjoys working with his professional drone camera where photos and video can be taken live and up close when the lens is in focus for long range. Patrick attended Immaculata High School, and his team spirit is clear to see in his film and video capture. On the lacrosse field, Patrick can align the drone above the goal where it will catch each player’s move and yet remain unnoticed. His shots are often of a vantage point that other photographers cannot shoot because he is the assigned photographer with clearance for drone footage. Following the games, Patrick submits his work for publication, where schools and universities publish his photos along with game history. Although I learned a lot, I mainly enjoyed observing Patrick in action.
